Haiku

Hello,

Today I did a Haiku for the Summer Learning Journey. I hope you like it. πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

Question: Would you do a Haiku and what would you write about ?

  1. Love this poem John - very thought provoking. I would write a haiku about unwinding and relaxing. What plans do you have to write more of these?

  2. Kia Ora John,

My name is Zana and I am a blog commenter from the Summer Learning Journey, it is awesome to see your first post of the summer and I look forward to seeing more as you continue blogging!

I really enjoyed this haiku activity as I love to read poetry and I think haikus are a very fun form of poetry with their syllable rules and simplicity. Your haiku is well written, you followed the 5, 7, 5 syllable rule perfectly and I think your theme is very relevant to everyone's experience with COVID. I really liked your final line “but hope turns the page” it is a beautiful message and your image relates and adds depth to your haiku.

What was your inspiration for this haiku? And may I encourage you to step up your work by writing two more haikus and even include a clip of you reading them aloud.

Keep up the great work and I hope to see more of your posts over the summer.

    Ngā mihi nui,
    Zana Yates

  4. Hey John,

Good on you for going back to give this one another go. I think this poem is better than the first one you posted, and even if it wasn’t, I’m excited to see your work on display and to see you trying your best with these activities.

    Good work John,
See you later in the comments,

    Daniel
