To support my learning I ask you to comment as follows:
1. Something positive - Begin with a greeting. Talk about something you like about what I have shared.
2. Thoughtful - A comment that will mean something to me to let me know you read/watched or listened to what I had to say. - use any language.
3. Something helpful - Give me some ideas for next time or ask me a question.
Encourage me to make another post
Love this poem John - very thought provoking. I would write a haiku about unwinding and relaxing. What plans do you have to write more of these?
ReplyDeleteHi Mrs Earl,
DeleteMy second Haiku is on Cats in my next blog
Kia Ora John,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Zana and I am a blog commenter from the Summer Learning Journey, it is awesome to see your first post of the summer and I look forward to seeing more as you continue blogging!
I really enjoyed this haiku activity as I love to read poetry and I think haikus are a very fun form of poetry with their syllable rules and simplicity. Your haiku is well written, you followed the 5, 7, 5 syllable rule perfectly and I think your theme is very relevant to everyone's experience with COVID. I really liked your final line “but hope turns the page” it is a beautiful message and your image relates and adds depth to your haiku.
What was your inspiration for this haiku? And may I encourage you to step up your work by writing two more haikus and even include a clip of you reading them aloud.
Keep up the great work and I hope to see more of your posts over the summer.
Ngā mihi nui,
Zana Yates
HI Zana,

Hey John,
ReplyDeleteGood on you for going back to give this one another go. I think this poem is better than the first one you posted, and even if it wasn’t, I’m excited to see your work on display and to see you trying your best with these activities.
Good work John,
See you later in the comments,
Daniel
