Campsites

 Hi,

Today i did a campsite tasks (kick start and it step up).

I calculated how much in total a paddock can make if every tent site is rented out.  I used 1 square for every camp site

(a). 50 tent sites

(b). 45 tents sites

(c).  50 tent sites with toilet blocks

This is my work Kick Start.

Then for step it up, I calculated how much a campsite can make with

(a). 3 square sites - without and with toilet blocks

(b). 4 square sites - without and with toilet blocks

(c). If 12% is paid to the farmer for (a) and (b)

This is my work Step it up.

I really enjoyed working with the numbers. The greatest challenge is not to get confused  with the conditions - without toilet blocks,  with toilet blocks and payment of  12% to the farmer. I have tried to be as tidy as possible with the workings.

  1. Kia Ora John,

My name is Zana and I am a blog commenter from the Summer Learning Journey.

This activity was great for reworking your brains and getting you back into maths as it is a topic you would not regularly use over the summer.

You did a great job arranging your tent sites equally but I dont think they quite adhere to the size requirements and the colour coding you used is a little confusing but I think if you used a different colour for each plot (3 block and 4 block plot) it would be easier to see your spacing.

Your explanation of your math working out is done well and your numbers seem to add up.

It would also be great if you could include what you learnt, what was fun and what you found challenging.

I noticed that I only had limited access to your slides so could you please share the files
Anyone on the internet with this link can view so everyone can see it on your blog.

Happy Holidays, Keep up the great work and I hope to see more of your posts over the summer.

    Ngā mihi nui,
    Zana Yates
