Hi,
I made an origami mini boat, canoe and square end boat. Then I did a challenge to see which one can carry the most weight before sinking. Instead of rocks, I used beans. This was the results:
Boat - 1 teaspoon of beans
Square end boat - 4 teaspoons of beans
Canoe - 6 teaspoons of beans
Watch my videos to see how I did it and the verdict of the best design.

ReplyDeleteAwesome post about the “float your boat” activity. You have done a great job at collecting evidence, creating the boats and using other materials like the beans. Had you added blue food colouring to the water? That's a really cool idea. I am going to mark this activity as a Stand out blog post which means you get extra points for your awesome effort.
6 teaspoons of beans for the canoe. Wow, that's a lot of weight for a paper canoe to carry. What was fun and what was challenging about this activity?
Keep up the awesome blogging e hoa, i look forward to your response.

Hi again Kiana
ReplyDeleteI added some blue food colouring to the water to make it look like the sea. The challenging part was putting the beans without sinking the boats. The fun part was actually seeing how many teaspoons of beans it took to sink the boats. The result was a surprise. I thought the square end boat could take more.
