Hello everyone,

Today for the Writing Workshop I read a small part of the book of Harry Potter and drew on paper what the grand hall would look like.

Nasi Lemak

Hello everyone ,

Today we had Nasi Lemak for lunch. It is a special dish made up of many small dishes eaten with rice cooked in coconut milk. In Malaysia, sometimes people have it for breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner or supper. It is a signature Malaysian dish equivalent to what fish & chips is to New Zealand

Day 53 of lockdown

Hello everyone,

Dad brought us for a short drive to Waimakariri River today.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waimakariri_River

There were not many people there and it was quite cold at 6 degrees Celsius even thought it was a sunny day. Mark and I tried to stack rocks to see who can stack more without dropping. I could manage 12.

We went to Rakaia Gorge after Waimakariri River. There were more people here. Many had gone to the hiking trails for walks.

This is our first outing out of Christchurch at Level 2 and before the start of school tomorrow.

Day 52 of Lock down

Hello everyone,
Today I made tapioca jelly balls for my bubble tea. We just need tapioca flour, food colouring and boiling water.
Step 1 - Add boiling water to tapioca flour. A little at the time. Mix till a dough forms.
Step 2 - Make a well and add a few drops of food colouring. Blue for me.
Step 3 - Roll into little dough balls
Step 4 -  Put dough balls in boiling water. When the balls start to float, put them in cold water and later milk tea.
Step 5 - Add milk, sugar and tapioca jelly balls to tea. Let me taste this...

Day 51 of Lock down

Hello everyone,

We went to New Brighton Beach yesterday in celebration of moving to Level 2. The air was cold and damp. It was windy and the waves were high. I enjoyed the walk and the interesting landscape.

Day 49 of lockdown

Hello everyone,

Today we made chocolate brownie for dessert. I am resisting the temptation to lick the frosting spoon. We have run out of ice-cream so it's just the chocolate brownie I suppose.

Day 45 of lockdown

Hello everyone,

Used my hand prints to do numbers in Maori. Compared to Bahasa Malaysia words.

2 = rua = dua & 5 = rima = lima. Sound similar.

Day 42 of lock down

Hello everyone,

We went for a walk at sunset today. The sky was so beautiful like paint mixing on a palette . The moon was so round like a rice biscuit. I must be going crazy in hunger.

During the walk, I made a poem for Mum!

If I bought Mum a yacht
She will say yikes!
and ask why did i bought her a yacht
and that I should have bought her a bike.

Her yacht is four stories high,
So high it will reach the sky,
If she needs to go to the loo,
She just opens the window to poo.

Day 39 of lockdown

Hello everyone ,

After breakfast this morning my Dad and I played a board game called Tour of New Zealand. We played it as preparation for my family year end road trip. The rule and aim of this game is in the photo below :

It was educational and fun. I took out a map to learn place names and towns in New Zealand .

Day 37 of lockdown

Hi everyone,

The highlight of my day was cycling to the park. It was nice to cycle in the sun and see the ducks.

I like to see the webbed orange feet paddling under the ducks. Some ducks have blue and green feathers hidden under their brown ones. There was a duck bigger then the rest. Not likely a swan because the neck wasn't very long. It could be a goose.

Many people walked their dogs and brought their children out to the park today because of the great weather.
